About The Artist

Senior Artist Lesley Keane

has spent her life in Dublin, Ireland. Her first brush with makeup was at the age of four when she received a pretend makeup kit for Christmas. She went on to study fashion design in Dublin where she developed her training by doing her friends’ makeup. A punk in the late 80s, she boasts of sporting various challenging eyeliner looks that would put Toyah Wilcox to shame. “When M·A·C arrived in Dublin in 1997, I knew this was the job for me,” she admits. “I remained a retail artist on the counter for five years then I moved into staff training. I have been a Senior Artist for three years and I’m still in love with the company 15 years later!”

Gaelic Girls

“Irish girls love liquid liner and false lashes, so Fluidline in Blacktrack and 36 Lash are essential. I would also recommend Full Lash Curler for an instant lift. In fact, mascara is the one product most people rely on so I’d also suggest investing in Haute & Naughty Lash too. I can’t open the door without using it. My lashes are the only place I don’t mind putting weight on! I have also seen an increase in Irish women experimenting more with lipstick in colours like red, pink and purple. Cyber Lipstick is a Gothic purple tone that has been popular and suits all skin colours, as well as Girl About Town – a hot pink.”

High Brow

“I’m a firm believer that a good brow shape and contour can work wonders. I'm always carrying Eye Brows in Lingering and Stud, not to mention a good pair of tweezers! Disposable Mascara Wands for brows and lashes are a sound investment. With these things in place you can begin experimenting with colour. I love Teddy Eye Kohl smudged around the eyes with Honey Lust and Mulch Eye Shadows pressed on top. These are the shades I used on Bianca Jagger during one of my favourite shoots of all time. We were working with Helmut Newton in an old, derelict building.”

Bunny Hopping

“I love working for M·A·C and have had the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful places in the world. I can express myself with the full support of my colleagues while inspiring and teaching others. I have met some of the most inspiring people, not to mention the fact that I have partied at the Playboy Mansion!”
